Do the "Harlem Shake"

This is the "Real Harlem Shake" this picture is so funny. But people are overreacting to this popular trend across the whole U.S. In my opinion people are just having fun, and creating their own unique ways even though it involves stupid ways to dance. It is a of expressing your "inner crazy" in a positive way. In these videos of the so called Harlem Shake we see a way of connecting to the whole social media trend that is storming the U.S and everywher. Everyone one in U.S, young and old are doing the mass popular trend, and expressing all their "stress" of work or school, so everyone can laugh and have a fun time. The summary relevance is that video of Harlem people from Harlem are mad or disappointed at the trend and popularity of Harlem Shake, and they it is making fun of their culture of "Harlem", but I think it just people having fun. Plus the video of the Harlem people talking about their ideas of "Harlem Shake" are mad because these people don't know the real struggle of Harlem Renaissance and don't really understand their culture of Harlem Shake. My question is how do they know if these specific people are making fun of the Harlem Shake, you don't know if they know about the history of Harlem and they just having fun with their friends and colleagues and expressing their own unique way of dancing and goofing off to the camera.

I like this picture of "Street Racing Harlem Shake" it goes to a particular crowd of "cultured people" its just fun thing to do with friends, companions, and colleagues.  It is not a insult to the Harlem people who live at the area of Harlem Renaissance it just a "fad" or "trend" that people caught a grasp of it by the uses of media.

WHAT is the true meaning being "Deaf" in this world?

Are deaf people "ordinary people"?

Well i went to class seminar in San Diego University (SDSU) with my personal development class and we went to various workshops first we had to go this mandatory workshop/ Speech this workshop it was giving more information this seminar about it was mainly about "Diversity" and in this workshop was giving the similar information that we live in world with alot of different and interesting cultures and traditions not just looking at the color of the skin of any particular human being. The word "Diversity" is has various meanings and definitions and very complex idea. I will talking about brief information about the "deaf culture" it was mine last workshop for our class seminar. YES  deaf culture have same challenges, struggles, trials like every regular or ordinary person.

I explain my feelings and thoughts about the "deaf culture" when i went to this workshop particular i thought it was going be "boring" or "uninteresting". But i was amazed and happy i went to this particular workshop because this workshop gave more information about this growing community of the deaf culture. Because we  i think caught my attention that we learn various greetings in sign language and gave me first something to do in the workshop and how easy to learn some simple body gestures and sign language it was very interesting workshop and very fun in intellectual sense.

Why i showed this image of different various sign languages because we did some of this various sign languages for example number 5 sign language hand sign when u shake it means and correct if i got it wrong it means "I'm Okay" or "I am chilling" . We learn others but that's was example i remember and very diverse culture and i would like do any time when i am "free" from other duties from my daily lifestyle because first it gives something to do and i also think it kinds embrace this deaf culture to flourish in many years to come. I want that most prestigious colleges or institutions should give right tools of service of their born or bought culture that imprinted in lifestyle. Thank you listening my thoughts.

What a game of life?

Life is No Game 

Well I went with my classmates in Personal Development class retreat to one of university i will like to go u guessed its San Diego State University (SDSU). We had to attend to various workshops about how will u success in education career. It also it shows various programs and information about any college academic success schools. I will talk about one of the workshops i attended to and how this particular workshop game was the most impactful for personally and it taught me very important lessen about my life and i will give my changes about this important life lessen

I attended to a particular workshop called the "Game of Life" first i thought we will play a board game and it will be fun so i convince my homies to go with to this workshop and they said Yes because it was the most easy and interesting workshop. So we chilled for while to wait for the workshop to open and first the presenter made us line up next to workshop and he will give these slips of paper and he posted on our shirts and each slip was written in letters for example (A,M) or (I). I got (A,R,M) on my chest and i was given money, two jobs, and got the best Universitys like for example Ivy league school like Princeton or Harvard and the presenter was the "city cop" and he will pampered me like for example if somebody who wasn't rich was touching me or bothering me he will ask if u want this particular person to jail. Tell the Truth i was laughing my ass off and my friends were getting bad or no jobs, some my friends were going to jail frequently it was funny because there expression was "classic". I will get options to buy a mansion i will not buy because i just wanted a normal house and two apartments. But i didn't have alot options i liked for example "charity for your particular religion" i get to that later. Then the game was over and we sat in one big circle and talk about your experiences in the game of life.

So we talked about our particular experiences and when it was my turn i told my classmates that i given this much money and education opportunities or had this "Power" but i had two jobs and had the educated degree and spend less things like for example a house and two apartments but still had way more money in my pocket. I wanted in my subconscious mind to spend it for my people like for me i wanted to spend on my  Somalia people and help them out of their struggles. I also wanted to contribute or give charity to my religion for me its Islam. I notice about me that "money" is not happiness for me because its a need for crucial items like for example food, security, etc.You why i like life and its very interesting because u found something "new" about every day. So when i do crucial or eventful problems in your life you should question yourself why u did u put that particular solution for example for a reward or something else. I just expressing my thoughts about "Life" in general because its a interesting topic talk about to yourself and your peers.

N-Word Has Value

I will talk about word "nigger" or new generation "nigga"

 In our communication class we had to write a few speech topics like for example "what is affirmative action, to whats the true meaning of "color blind", and finally what is the word "nigger" or "nigga" mean to you using all the topics by researching articles that support these topics. Also your opinion about these few topics using  personal experiences. Well i talked about the word of "nigger" and "nigga" using articles and using personal experiences i will define these two version of the word "nigger" and "nigga"

I will define the word "nigger" it meaning is probably the most offensive word in English dictionary. Its degree of offensiveness has increased markedly in recent years, and also one of the top profanity words in world according to English definition. Then new generation of N-word called "nigga" its meaning is word used by blacks to maintain racial separation and dwell on events over one hundred years ago". I will talk about word "nigga" is way of connecting to other people and word i will talk in brief about the "nigger" how its nasty word not the word "nigga"

Well tell you about myself well i am black but i wasn't born in U.S i was originally from Somalia but i was born in Europe and i know and i love all kinds of natural history around the world. I use the word "nigga" as a friendly informal conversation to a friends or family and i know what i am saying but i am not saying hateful manner. To me "people in general put more power in "nigga" and that's is big problem to me because its just word "nigga" it has no value or substance. Rappers that i listen and love for example Tupac to Ice Cube use word "nigga" to express there own self-thoughts using to connect to people who understand there life struggles.

So for my conclusion for this controversial topic called "nigga". I am just talking about my own opinion about the word "nigga" . I will say brief information about "nigger' its sound like a bad word its has hurtful taste in your mouth. So i say not to use the word "nigger" and use word "nigga" as a friendly informal conversation. So i will like the readers do little activity and say the word "nigga" for 100 times and loses its meaning and value.

Fighting Identities

Is "self" a living thing?
Are we gonna find our "identity" over time or not?

We talked in our English class about Self v. Identity, well this topic is complex and very interesting because "people" think "identity" is a thing you born with and "Self" is what you develop over time. I will tell you the concrete definition of "Self" and "Identity" and i give my opinion about this two topics and give few examples about this topic by using my life experience.

"Self"  has different definitions i tell you the philosophy definition first its "Self can be considered that being which is the source of consciousness", the religion definition is " Self is ego, also called the learned, superficial  self of mind and body. My opinion for "Self" is so many and this two definition a very good, but i believe in "Self" to be "spiritual" to me because i grew up in family who had "religion" in our enviornment and my religion is Islam and we do pray 5 times to maintain our "Self" to be "pure" and my prayers keep me "mind" pure like for example if you are studying a tough chemistry test and u still don't really get the information i ask my (God) Allah to ease my "mind" and i will pray. There are different opinions in "Self" but this my opinion and this makes our world unique.

Identity has alot of versions or different topics that relate to "identity"  tell you two definitions the first one is " The process of the development of distinct personality of an individual. Other definition is "Identity principle of logic stating that an object is the same as itself. My opinion about of identity i think its development through years of 6 yrs to 10 yrs why i said this time because children grab information much faster then adults and they ask questions to the adults and to "themselves" meaning they get these thoughts whether its bad or good they try to find the solution. I also i can say it can be there enviorment, but the most impact i think is the children "role models" because they want to follow there particular "role models" and trying making them notice them

This picture is very interesting because this pic is very good definition of Self v. Identity. We have to try still find out "who we are really" to this world. Because i think people are scared to find there "true selfs" because everyday you wake in morning you should think why i chose this personality and thinking where will i go when i to Hereafter it keeps your mind sharp. YOU JUST TRY IT  and you find something different everyday.

Is perception is only thing we look at in this world!

We talked in our Communication 103 about "looking glass self" and "perception" because these two topics relate to "identity" and i want tell concrete definition of these topics and i will talk about few examples of topic and my views about this topic

This nice looking of  picture of "perception" huh! Well concrete definition of "perception" is organization, identification and interpretation of sensory information in order to represent and understand the environment. My meaning of perception is if you wear certain type of clothing for example that u don't act or like what certain bad clothing. Other example i believe this picture is very hot because i am male but its doesn't make me a rapist because i am male and i am single haha it because i am attracted to this picture, and i also don't think if certain women wear some "slutting clothing" makes them hoes or sluts it just they are expressing their identity and also they have different ideas. That's what people do is first look and sprout their dirty or good ideas but u wouldn't know the truth just by looking you and i have to ask why, how etc.

Well this is a funny picture of the "looking glass self".  Looking-glass self means that person self grows out of society interpersonal interactions and the perceptions of others that's concrete definition of this topic. My meaning is when people talk about what the Pros and Cons of your clothing for example and u take those ideas or opinions and try to change it to the liking of the society. Other example when i was around my middle school years i used to be very cute fat kid and my cousins, nieces, nephews will clown on me about my weight at that time and it hurt it me sometimes but i took that criticism and i improve by losing weight it started around my 9th grade because i started to play football and also the wrestling team. I also can thank them because they care of my weight and they didn't want the society around other than my family to mock me of make fun of me so i am grateful.

I like this picture of this lion looking in her reflection and makes me wonder that if she surprise of her identity or  amazed. Well these topics relate to identity and i really want expressed my opinions and feelings about these two topics because there very interesting topics to discuss. This pictures makes me think when u look in a mirror you can find a different perspective about yourself.

Ice, Ice, Baby

What is true entertainment? Is entertainment our hidden desire? Well we wrote reaction paper in our English class and its about writing your choice of musicians. I alot of favorite musicians in entertainment industry but i picked to talk about rap legend Ice Cube and song that i reacted and wrote about was called "Hood Mentality" is one my favorites songs from Ice Cube. Brief summary from Ice cube he is from famous rap group in 80s called NWA, even though i wasn't born in 80s. I am orignally born in 90s so back in to topic. This song got me in the trend to listen in Hip Hop and Rap music. It started in 6th grade that i first heard rap or hip hop music even though i am Somolian African American and one of my best friends in middle school gave his mp3 and he said and i quote " Ice Cube is tightest rapper of all time", when i heard it first i said of course he is. So entertainment of music change or even create my choice of music genre.

 I will explaining about true entertainment in my opinion. I think it started with Greek society using music, philosophy, and culture. Even philosophers in that time said and i quote "music expresses your true self" and other quote "music takes all the pain from your lifetime and cures it". Well entertainment can express your feelings for example i was listening to some of music from my Somolian race and it was speaking in our language and it hit personally because i notice all the struggles of my race and challenges they face i almost cried. So entertainment can be cultural spiritually impact to life because, entertainment can be all different forms from tribal dances, to even in movies.

Is entertainment our hidden desire? I say a big fat YES why because entertainment gets us connected to whole world for example world news channels tells us if their is a crisis in our world or incoming danger to community or city. But entertainment can be a bad influence to world for example these "street gangs" all over the U.S are influence by music industry in specific genre of music called Rap and Hip Hop because they idolize these rappers talking about killing for the hood or committing murders. It fuels there ignorant minds to do the same to become mindless puppets. If music industry "brainwashing" the younger generation of this brutality they control them psychology. So i just saying my opinion about this topic but this is growing problem in whole world.

Well my conclusion is our entertainment is our source of POWER to human race whether its culturally, spiritually, or even just for fun. Its impacts your and mine life's drastically so try to maintain your desire of entertainment and learn more of your root history because that completes you more, you also think of entertainment filling your gaps of your identity. Just don't let entertainment change you u are That's All.
